you cant see the pictures at all its always black even when i take out the memory card how do i reset the camera or fix it?

i BOUGHT A 2G SD CARD AND AS SOON AS I PUT IT IN THE CAMERA THE CAMERA POWERS UP BUT NEVER GETS PAST THE FIRST SCREEN? ITS AN ARGUS DC-5195

I keep getting an error message when I try to get the pictures from my camera onto my computer.
