with memory card installed, screen asks to format ...

with memory card installed, screen asks to format sd card, selecting yes, or no, screen and camera turns off. repower up, same. no changes, can not use any other funnctions. advise.

1 My only suggestion at this point would be to "Fully Charge" the batteries and see if this makes any difference. My Sony DSC-S40 did basically the same with it's original Sony Rechargeable batteries. I changed to Energizer Rechargeables and this issue did occur unless battereis flat. Hope this may help.
