SELECTING THE LANGUAGE
1Press the “MENU/OK” button to display the
menu screen.
2Press “a”, “b”, “d” or “c” to select “SET–UP”
from the “g” OPTION menu.
3Press the “MENU/OK” button.
1The “SET–UP” screen appears. Use “a” or
“b” to select “LANGUAGE”.
2Press “c” to select “ENGLISH”, “FRANCAIS”
or “DEUTSCH”. You can cycle through the
language settings by pressing “c”.

SETTING THE DATE AND TIME

Checking the remaining battery charge
◆
Switch the camera on and check that no battery
level warning (
Z, X or C) is displayed on
the LCD monitor. If no icon is displayed, there is
ample charge left in the battery.

Z Lit white:
The battery is approximately half charged.
i
X Lit red:
Battery charge low. The camera is about to run
out of power. You should load a fully charged
battery or recharge the current battery.
i
C Blinking red:
The battery is exhausted. The display will shortly
go blank and the camera will stop working. Load
a fully charged battery or recharge the current
battery.

The above estimates are for the Still photography
modes. In Playback mode, the transition from
“
X” to “C” may take less time.

Battery with no remaining charge (C flashing
red) will cause problems such as loss of power
while the lens is still extended. Always charge the
battery before use.
Displays the date in the “month/day/
