Recording and Playing Back Movies
C Maximum Movie Length
All figures are approximate. The maximum movie length varies with the make of the memory card
and the bitrate of the recorded movie.

The maximum movie length for a single movie is 25 seconds.

The maximum movie length for a single movie is 4 GB or 29 minutes, even when there is sufficient
free space on the memory card. The maximum movie recording time for a single movie is
displayed during recording.
C Functions Available in Movie Recording
• The exposure compensation and White balance settings in shooting menu (A60) are also
applied with movie recording. When focus mode is set to
D (macro close-up), the camera can
zoom to a position closer to the subject to record movies. Confirm settings before starting movie
recording.
• The self-timer (A69) can be used. If the self-timer is set and the
b (e movie-record) button is
pressed, the camera starts movie recording after ten or two seconds.
• The flash does not fire.
• Press the
d button before starting to record the movie to display the e (movie) tab and select
movie menu settings (A99).
C Recording HS (High Speed) Movies
When Movie options in movie menu is set to h HS 120 fps (640×480), i HS 60 fps
(1280×720), or
j HS 15 fps (1920×1080), movies that can be played back in slow motion or
fast motion can be recorded (E66).
