while the AC adapter and camera are con nect ed. Failure

Before connecting the AC adapt er, be sure the camera is
off.
Follow these steps to connect the adapter (Figure 2; illustra-
tion shows COOLPIX 8800):

Plug the AC adapter plug into the AC adapt er (Figure 2-a).

Open the connector cover and insert the DC plug into the
DC IN connector (Figure 2-b).

Plug the wall plug into a pow er out let. The POWER lamp will
glow, showing that the EH-54 is plugged in (Figure 2-c).

Before disconnecting the AC adapt er, be sure the cam-
era is off. Unplug the DC plug from the camera’s DC-IN
con nec tor, then unplug the pow er cable from the power
source by pull ing on the plug, not the cable.

Ehe Sie den Netzadapter anschließen, stellen Sie sicher,
dass die Kamera ausgeschaltet ist.
Gehen Sie dann in der nachfolgend beschriebenen
Reihenfolge vor (Ab bil dung 2; die Abbildung zeigh die
COOLPIX 8800).

Schließen Sie das Netzkabel am Netzadapter an (Ab-
bil dung 2-a).

Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung des Netzadapter – Anschlusses
an der Ka me ra und verbinden Sie den Stecker des Adap-
terkabels mit der DC-IN – Buchse (Abbildung 2-b).

Stecken Sie den Netzstecker des Netzkabels in eine
Steckdose. Die Netzkontrolllampe (POWER) leuchtet
auf und zeigt an, dass das EH-54 angeschlossen ist
(Abbildung 2-c)

✔ WICHTIG
Bevor Sie die Kabelverbindung zwischen Kamera
und Netzadapter tren nen, soll ten Sie sicherstellen
dass die Kamera ausgeschaltet ist. Ziehen Sie zuerst
den Stecker des Adapterkabels von der Ka me ra
ab, und ziehen Sie anschließend das Netzkabel
aus der Steckdose. Fas sen Sie das Netzkabel beim
Abziehen immer am Netzstecker an, niemals am
Kabel selbst.

Avant de connecter l’adaptateur secteur, vérifi ez que
l’appareil photo est bien hors tension. Suivez les étapes
suivantes pour connecter l’adaptateur (fi gure 2 ; l’illus-
tration montre le COOLPIX 8800).

Branchez le cordon d’alimentation dans l’adaptateur
secteur (fi gure 2-a).

Ouvrez le couvercle du port alimentation boîtier et
branchez la fi che alimentation boîtier sur ce même
port (fi gure 2-b).

Branchez le cordon d’alimentation dans une prise de
courant. Le témoin lumineux de mise sous tension
s’allumera pour in di quer que le EH-54 est bien installé
(fi gure 2-c).
✔ IMPORTANT
Avant de déconnecter l’adaptateur secteur, as su rez-
vous que l’appareil photo est éteint. Dé bran chez
la fi che alimentation boîtier, puis dé con nec tez la
fi che alimentation secteur en tirant sur la prise et
non sur le cordon.

adapter and take the charger to a Nikon representa-
tive for in spec tion.

You can now use the camera. When operating the camera
with the AC adapter, take care that the camera does not
ac ci den tal ly be come un plugged.
