Step 1 Turn the Camera On and Select G (Easy Auto) Mode

Indicators Displayed in G (Easy auto) Mode
The indicators and photo info displayed during shooting and playback will turn off
after a few seconds (A 89).

Shooting mode
In easy auto mode, U, e, f, g,
h, i, or j is displayed to indicate
the shooting mode selected by the camera
for the current subject and framing.
Internal memory indicator
Pictures will be recorded to internal memory
(approximately 20 MB).
When memory card is inserted, C is not
displayed and pictures will be recorded to
memory card.
Image mode
Display image size and quality set in
the image mode menu. The default
settings are as follows:
L20: K Normal (3648×2736)
L19: y Normal (3264×2448)
Motion detection indicator
Reduce the blurring caused by subject
or camera shake.
C Available functions in easy auto mode
When the camera is pointed at a person’s face, the camera automatically recognizes the face and
focuses on it.
The flash setting can be set to W (off) (A 28).
The self-timer (A 30) and exposure compensation (A 32) are available.
In G (easy auto) mode, the image mode (A 71) can be changed by pressing d.

D The motion detection indicator
When Motion detection (A92) in the setup menu (A 82) is set to AUTO (default setting), if
the camera detects a moving subject or camera shaking while shooting still pictures, shutter
speed increases to reduce blurring. (This function is not activated in the movie mode.)
When the camera detects shaking and increases shutter speed, the motion detection indicator
turns green.
