Purpose
Suggest additional, camera related purchases
Give a short overview of most commonly used features
For more details refer to the factory manual
Suggested Purchases
Buy a 512 M “xD” memory card (The existing one is only 16M)
Purchase a set of Ni-MH AA batteries and a battery charger
User Guidelines
Camera Reset: (Use when the camera has radically changed from default settings)
1. With the camera turned on, hit the “OK”
2. Toggle down to “Reset” (Use down arrow)
3. Hit “OK” to reset
Set Picture Quality to “SQ1” (1024x768 mode)
1. Enable less memory consuming picture (Do after “Reset”)
2. With the camera on: hit “OK” for menu
3. Hit left arrow
4. Toggle to desired picture size (SQ1 is a good choice)
Picture Modes
1. There are many modes – Program/Auto (P), Portrait, Landscape, Movie, etc
2. For details refer to factory manual
3. For everyday use, stay in “P” mode
4. People shots: ALWAYS use Flash (Hit right arrow three times)
5. Once set to Flash and turned off, the camera remembers the last state (flash)
6. As you get more comfortable, try different modes (Hit “OK”, right arrow 3 times)
Quick View – Reviewing your picture
1. Hit the “Quick View” Button (Camera turned off)
2. Use left or right arrow to toggle thru your pictures
Erasing a picture
1. In “Quick View”, find the picture to erase and hit the “OK” button
2. Arrow down to the “Erase” entry
3. The hilite will be on “YES”, hit “OK” to erase
Taking your Picture
1. Always use “Flash” for people to eliminate shadows
2. Depress the trigger halfway to allow the camera to set itself up (Wait till the
display shows a “green” dot, then depress fully
3. Use the Telephoto toggle as needed to frame your picture
