The monitor is hard to see.

The brightness is not
adjusted properly.
Select in the mode menu and then adjust
the brightness.

The monitor is
exposed to direct
sunlight.
Block the sunlight with your hand.
Vertical lines appear
on the monitor screen.
Bright light, such as direct sunlight, may cause
vertical lines to appear on the monitor screen.
This is not a malfunction.
Pictures you have taken do not appear on the monitor.

The power is off. Close the lens barrier, and press to turn the
monitor on.

The camera is in the
shooting mode.
Press or close the lens barrier and then
press to switch to the playback mode.

There are no pictures

pictures.
There is a problem

connected to a TV.
The monitor does not function when the AV
cable is connected to the camera.

set.
Set the date/time. The clock adjustment is not
factory-preset.

The camera has been
left with the batteries
removed.
If the camera is left for about 3 days with the
batteries removed, the date and time setting will
revert to the factory default setting. Set the date/
time again.
