Recording movies
Shooting basics
6 Press the shutter button fully to start recording.
The orange lamp on the right of the viewfinder lights.
While recording a movie, the camera fixes its focus and zoom.
During movie recording, lights red.
7 Press the shutter button again to stop recording.
The orange lamp blinks while the movie is stored on the card.
When the remaining recording time has been used up, recording stops
automatically.
TIPS
To keep your subject in focus all the time while shooting
Set to OFF. "Recording sound with movies" (P.83)
To use the zoom while shooting
Set DIGITAL ZOOM to ON. "Using the digital zoom" (P.58)
Set to OFF, and you can use the optical zoom while shooting.

During movie recording, the flash is disabled.
It takes longer to store movies than still pictures.
The maximum recordable time varies depending on the conditions such
as the record mode.
Note
Recording will continue until the card is full unless stopped by
pressing the shutter button.
A long recorded movie cannot be edited. (P.101)
If a single movie recording uses up all of the card’s memory, create
space on the card by deleting the movie or downloading it to a PC.
