Focus Mode

Standard
(Autofocus mode)
The camera focuses on the object in the autofocus area
when the shutter release button is pressed halfway.
Use this mode when the distance to the subject is more
than approx. 35 cm (16 in.).

Macro mode
This mode is used when the distance to the subject is
approx. 12 cm – 40 cm (4.7 in. – 16 in.). The camera
focuses on the object in the autofocus area when the
shutter release button is pressed halfway.
r
Super Macro mode
This mode is used when the distance to the subject is
approx. 6 cm – 15 cm (2.3 in. – 5.9 in.). The camera
focuses on the object in the autofocus area when the
shutter release button is pressed halfway.
Pan Focus mode
This mode is used when shooting close and distant
subjects together or the subject is hard to focus on.
You can adjust the focus on a subject in the following
ranges.
When taking still pictures:
approx. 2.3 m (7.55 ft.) –
∞ (full wide-angle), approx.
9.3 m (30.51 ft.) –
∞ (full telephoto)
When taking movies:
approx. 0.9 m (2.95 ft.) –
∞ (full wide-angle), approx.
3.7 m (12.14 ft.) –
∞ (full telephoto)

Infinity mode
This mode is used for taking distant objects.

Manual Focus mode
Adjust the focus manually with the four-way controller.
