Settings
When using the RS-232C or RS-485 interface, perform
the necessary settings with 2. RS-232C/RS-485 SET of
MAIN MENU 2.
For details on menu operations, see “Menu Operations” on
page 17(GB).

STATUS INFO : ON
ALARM INFO : ON
ADDRESS : 000
CONTROL: Select RS-232C or RS-485.
DATA SPEED: Select the transmission speed from
among 2400/4800/9600/19200.
STATUS INFO: Set to ON when transmitting status
information of this unit.
ALARM INFO: Set to ON when transmitting alarm
information of this unit.
ADDRESS: Set the address (1 to 127) when using RS-
485.

Hard Disk Expansion and
Mirroring Setting
An optional HSBK-X201 hard disk drive (80 GB) can
be added for built-in hard disk expansion.
For mounting the HSBK-X201, ask your Sony dealer.
Initializing the hard disk
When you add a hard disk, it must be initialized.
Use 6. HDD SET of MAIN MENU 2.
For details on menu operations, see “Menu Operations” on
page 17(GB).

LIMITED BY MIRRORING!
Highlight DISK INITIALIZE and turn the Shuttle dial
clockwise.
Initializing begins.
When initializing is completed, the size of the added
disk is displayed on the DISK 2 line.
Activating the mirroring function
When the unit is equipped with two hard disks, the
mirroring function to record the same data on both of
the disks can be activated.
MIRRORING: Set to ON to activate the mirroring
function.
PLAYBACK DRIVE: Select the drive from which to
read the data for playback if data are recorded on
both drives with the mirroring function.
Note
In mirroring, the available maximum recording cycle
will be halved. When you set MIRRORING to ON, a
confirmation message is displayed.
When you select YES to turn on mirroring, the
recording cycles you can select when setting the
recording conditions will be limited.
