Recording additional scenes after finalizing
(Unfinalize)
You can record additional material on the
finalized DVD-RWs/DVD+RWs after the
following steps, if there is space to record
on the disc.
b Notes
• Use the AC Adaptor as power source to prevent
your camcorder from running out of power
during the operation.
• Do not apply shock or vibration to your
camcorder, and do not disconnect the AC
Adaptor during the operation.
• A disc menu created during finalizing are
deleted.
• When you use a double-sided disc, unfinalize
each side.
1 Connect the AC Adaptor to the
DC IN jack on your camcorder,
then connect the power cord to
the wall outlet.
2 Slide the POWER switch to turn
on the (Movie) lamp.
3 Insert the finalized disc into your
camcorder.
A confirmation screen appears to
prompt you to confirm that you wish to
record additional scenes.
4 Touch [YES] t [YES].
5 When [Completed.] appears,
touch .
For the discs recorded with SD
(standard definition) image quality
• When using the finalized DVD-RW (VR
mode) disc, you can record additional
material on the disc without any
additional steps.
• To unfinalize the DVD-RW (VIDEO
mode), perform (MANAGE DISC/
MEMORY) t [UNFINALIZE] in the
HOME MENU.
• If you have created a DVD menu (p. 72)
when finalizing the DVD+RW, a dialog
appears to confirm that you wish to record
additional scenes when you slide the
POWER switch to turn on the
(Movie) lamp.
b Notes
• You cannot unfinalize and record additional
scenes on the DVD-R/DVD+R DL.
