The subjects passing by the frame very fast appear crooked.
• This is called the focal plane phenomenon. This is not a malfunction. Because of the way that the
image device (CMOS sensor) reads out image signals, the subjects passing by the frame rapidly might
appear crooked depending on the recording conditions.
Sound is not recorded correctly.
• You cannot switch between the built-in microphone and an external microphone (sold separately)
while recording movies. Attach or remove an external microphone before you start recording.
Images cannot be played back.
• The folder/file name has been changed on your computer.
• When an image file has been processed by a computer or when the image file was recorded using a
model other than that of your camcorder, playback on your camcorder is not guaranteed.
• The camcorder is in USB mode. End the USB connection.
• To play images that are stored on a computer on your camcorder, copy the images to your camcorder
first, using “PMB.”
• Images recorded on other devices may not be played back, or displayed in incorrect size. This is not a
malfunction.
Images cannot be played back on the TV.
• The camcorder outputs signals to a TV via the HDMI terminal only. Connect the camcorder to the TV
using an HDMI cable (sold separately).
Cannot delete images.
• Cancel the protection (page 49).
Deleted images by mistake.
• Once you have deleted an image, you cannot restore it. We recommend that you protect images that
you do not want to delete (page 49).
Cannot copy images.
• Make the USB connection by properly connecting the camcorder with your computer.
• Follow the designated copy procedure for your OS.
• When you shoot images with a memory card formatted by a computer, you may not be able to copy
the images to a computer. Shoot using a memory card formatted by your camcorder.
Cannot play back images on a computer.
• If you are using “PMB,” refer to the “PMB Help.”
• Consult the computer or software manufacturer.
