The following happens: When a MiniDV digital video cassette is inserted in the camcorder (the normal way), the cassette is properly positioned inside automatically. However when the camcorders external movable door is closed there is a beep (sound) in regular intervals of time that do not stop. Next when the camcorder is switched on in the 'movies' mode on the screen there is a message that says 'remove the cassette'. Following this no other functions of the camcorder can be accessed.
