Question About Canon Camcorder UC 5 Hi
Fix horizontal playback problem...

I need to fix a problem I have with playback on my Canon E708 camera so I can convert some Hi8 tapes to dvd. On playback the picture frames go wildly up and down like on an old TV where you'd have to adjust the horizontal knob . Does anyone know how I can adjust/fix this? 1 Had similar problem, tracking had slipped. 2 screws, 1 on each spindle to adjust .Trouble was there’s 2,didn't know which was out! Adjusted each in turn keeping careful record of how far I’d turned each before testing. Went for 90deg rotations each time & looked for signs of image improvement.Got there in the end but always susceptible to slippage,hard to get screws tight enough,didn't want to risk slipping screw driver & damaging heads! Do at your own risk, please don't blame me if it goes horribly wrong!
