The picture in view appear to be clear, but when the actual picture is taken, it shows up with bright white lines through (similar to mini blinds) on the screen.

5 Unfortunately, the only one I'm sure that works - is sending it in for warranty repair. The replacement camera has been fine for the past two months or so. Luckily mine was only about 4 months old, so they sent me an RMA . During which I received several status messages: (will be testing your camera in the next few days... Ok - we testing it. OK it's broke., We'll send you a working reconditioned one. - Follow this link to get your reconditioned replacement)

0 I had the exact same problem with photos taken having bright lines - which washed out and ruined any images.. Mine was only about 3 months old, they told me to send it in and got a replacement reconditioned one. The mode dial of the replacement was all scratched and smeared - which didn't make me very happy, but having spent $9 to ship it in, I decided to live with it rather than go to the trouble again,. Obviously a product defect and, apparently a common problem.

0 Man this thing draws the juice! Mine will come up and say "battery exhausted" when trying to turn it on at times. If I switch the position of the two batteries, it'll power on just fine and show good battery power. I wonder if it's just checking one of the batteries - and what exactly it checks for. It does seems to shut down & refuse to run if the battery voltage goes below about 1.45 volts.

0 I can't get it to start up with a rechargeable battery.except occasionally with some rated at least 2500mah or greater. After getting my replacement camera back for the bright lines on photos problem I got a slip of paper included regarding batteries to use. It only recommended two brands of alkaline batteries and one brand and model of a rechargeable one (which I'd never heard of).
