Have a 1993 Hitachi VM-E53A Camcorder. When the power is on, there is no display in the viewfinder(blank). This is either in the camera mode(lens cap is off) or in the vidio mode. When you playback in the vidio mode, you see glimses of what is on the tape but that is it. I've tried a head cleaner but that did not help. Never had this problem before.
