5 There are a few reasons for this error. If you've used that same memory card before in this camcorder, then the card may just need to be formatted. To format (or Initializing) the card, follow the steps in page 30 of the user manual. The manual can be downloaded here: http://education.wm.edu/centers/lrc/documents/LYT1354-001A.pdf. Caution: All pictures/videos stored on the card will be erased if you format it. If the card fails to format, then you can try to format it on your PC. If the PC fails as well, then you have a bad card, or the card became damage/defective. If it's a new card that you just purchased, you have to make sure it is compatible with your camcorder. Your camcorder will only accept regular SD cards or MMC (MultiMediaCard). Anything that's labeled SDHC or SDXC will not work. Please refer to page 10 of the manual for the type f memory card you can use with your camcorder. If you are sure the card works (can be checked in a PC), and the type of card is correct, then the memory card socket on your camcorder may have been damaged. Check and see if there are any debris inside the card slot as well. Hope that helps! :) http://education.wm.edu/centers/lrc/documents/LYT1354-001A.pdf
