What file numbering sequence should I use to creat...

What file numbering sequence should I use to create a slideshow in the sequence I want to view the photos? I numbered my jpg file names 1,2,3,etc., but the slideshow doesn't seem to follow. It displays files in the sequence 1,10,100,1000,1001......1009,101,1010,etc.
