Question About Insignia Camcorder NS-DCC5HB09
NS-DCC5HB09 Video won't play on Mac computers...

When attempting to play the avi file, it doesn't show the video, you can only hear the audio. The only way it will play is if download the driver from the disc that it came with. The only problem is that it is a mini disc and it won't go in my computer because it will get stuck inside. Is there a driver available online? thanks in advance.

5 Download VLC player it is free and will play the files. I just got the camera, took me 2 hours to realize I already had the player on my mac.

5 Use Perian to play AVIs in Quicktime and you'll also be able to see it in iMovie. http://perian.org/

3 The only drivers on this site provided by INSIGNIA are one set that seem to be for a computer

0 VLC works just fine. However, how can you edit video (.avi) format from this Camcorder in iMovieHD. I have similar problem only audio no video. Any ideas? Thanks

0 I havent figured out how to edit the files just yet. There must be a way. let us know if you figure it out, I would love to know.

0 manual says change default avi format to MOV format for mac users. "MOV files may be easily viewed and edited on MAC computers with quicktime or imovie" (Insignia op manual)

0 Hi y'all, Short Answer: Get iSkysoft Video Converter, OR Daniusoft Video converter and convert AVI to MP4 Long answer: I had bunch of video files recorded with this camera since my daughter was born and now that I started organizing them, realized the same thing, can't be edited on iMovie or Final Cut Express. Did a research and downloaded iSkysoft Media Converter and let me convert AVI to MP4 and now I can edit those videos, I still use my camera to shoot my personal stuff. .
