Hi. put new memory card in the Praktica DC Slim 5 ...

Hi. put new memory card in the Praktica DC Slim 5 digital camera and now it won't switch on. Red light comes on and is always busy. No photos have been copied onto the card and need to retrieve them from camera memory. Any chance?
