I have the rca cc422 and every time I try and record it just says tape and I cant seem to record can you please help me

0 Hi. This is in reference to not being able to record, the camcorder only says tape. We had the same problem with ours and come to find out the door was not shutting all the way, had something to do with the latch on the door that holds the tape inside. It would seem like it was shut, but would not be shutting all the way. You can check that, if you have not done this already. By the way, if you know how to set the record speed from SP to SLP on this same model, please get back to me.
