How to load batteries in Vivitar 202 Auto...

I recently purchased a Vivitar 202 Auto and can't determine how to install batteries. I simply can't see the door. Is there a trick?

5 Place the flash in your left hand with the back toward you and the hot shoe in your palm. With your right thumb, push on the center of the f-stop calculator and slip it off by sliding it toward the ceiling. The battery compartment is behind the f-stop calculator.
