5 The Vivitar DVR 545 camera comes with a little black box into which you insert the battery. You then need a two pin plug which you plug into wall. The whole thing is ridiculous and belongs to the 1950s. How long do you charge the battery for? I don't know. I let mine charge until the red light goes out? Does the red light go out when the battery has charged? I don't know.I am still charging. Again I say the whole thing is archaic and arcane! Why can't Vivitar come up with a better solution to charging a battery than this nonsense!

1 I charged my camera overnight before a big trip, but about 30 minutes of playing music the battery died. This is the first time really using the camera for more than a few minutes and I was severly disappointed. I eventually brought the battery to battery specialist store and they said the battery won't accept a charge and is completely dead. Joy. I'm not looking to buy a replacement battery because I really do like the camera.
