    Position the camera so the lens is facing you in the upper right of the body of the camera (the vivitar logo should be facing you).

    Slide the front cover off. To do this, press down slightly and slide to the right, away from the handle side (not up-and-down like the manual suggests).

    Put in the batteries.
  4. 4
    Slide the cover back on from the right side.
