Hi. I recently bought a $10 Vivitar 3-in-1 mini digital camera from Walgreens. Set-up and use over the weekend was no problem. For some reason, I can't access the Internet on the computer that has/had the software (a Windows 98SE). When my ISP loads, I get the message "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" and the prompt "Tell Microsoft about this problem," and that I should send them the error report. When I do, Internet Explorer relaunches automatically, and Microsoft Error Reporting asks me to send the report again, relaunching the same window over and over again. Using the MY CAMERA software the digi cam came with, I repaired the software installation, which didn't fix the problem at all. When I clicked "Remove" in Control Panel, the Windows Installer box popped up, and said I was trying to use a resource on a network that was unavailable and that I should try again. I thought I had found the Windows Installer package with the MY CAMERA software on it, using the Find command, but when I copied the name of the file down, and tried to find it again, no luck. I ran System File Checker, and repaired a corrupted .dll file with my Win98 CD. The problem still persists. Same result when I ran Registry Checker. The software disc reads "EOTSQXXC DIGITAL CAMERA Arcsoft Photo Impression4.0" if that helps anyone out there. The camera itself was actually very nice. I just can't get rid of the glitches that the thing left behind. As an additional note, during installation it asked me to put the Win98 CD in because it needed drivers. I picked "Yes" to keep my existing file, which was newer than the one the MY CAMERA software needed to have. I hope that's everything, and I hope someone who's got more savvy than I do can help me out of this pickle. Please send any insights to ergogman@gmail.com
