• Use the built-in flash at least 1 meter (3.3 ft) away from the subject. Closer
distances may result in the flash partially obstructed by the lens barrel.
• When using the built-in flash, detach any hood attached to the lens. A lens
hood will partially obstruct the flash coverage.
• When a super telephoto lens or a fast, large-aperture lens is attached, the
built-in flash coverage might be obstructed. Using an EOS-dedicated
Speedlite is recommended.
• The built-in flash’s flash coverage is suited for a 28mm lens. If you use a
shorter wide-angle lens, the flash picture may look dark along the periphery.
•To retract the built-in flash, push it down.
• In <R> or <W> mode, even if you set the shutter speed faster than 1/125
sec. 1/125 sec. will be set automatically.
• If the camera finds it difficult to focus, the AF-assist beam will fire
automatically (except <I> <P>).
•C.Fn-07-3 disables the built-in flash from firing. (p.86)
•C.Fn-06-1 enables 2nd-curtain sync with the built-in flash. (p.86)
• With C.Fn-09-1, the flash sync speed will be fixed at 1/125 sec. in the <E>
mode. (p.87)
