4 Adjust ( ) the focus as required, then hide ( ) the joystick.
The selected focus will be locked.
During focus lock, press twice to return the camcorder to
autofocus.
NOTES
This function can also be assigned to the custom key/dial ( 85).
Infinity Focus
Use this function when you wish to focus on faraway subjects such as
mountains or fireworks.
In step 4 in the previous procedure:
Push the joystick ( ) toward and hold it pressed down until “MF”
changes to
.
If you operate the zoom or hold it pressed down ( ), changes back
to “MF” and the camcorder returns to manual focus.
Face Detection
You can have the camcorder automatically detect people’s faces and
use this information to adjust the focus and set the best exposure and
color control settings for beautiful videos and photos. When there are a
number of people in the picture, one person (with the white face frame)
will be determined to be the main subject. You can also select the main
subject manually, so the camcorder optimizes the settings for the per-
son selected.
POINTS TO CHECK
Select a recording program other than [ Night] or [ Fireworks].
1 Open ( ) the joystick guide.
2 Select ( ) [ Face Detection].
By default, face detection is activated ( ). If the function was turned
off, press to turn it on.
