+ AV In/Out function works only in Playermode.
+ AV In/Out setting enables you to record signal from externalsources and display it on LCD screen.
Also, you can direct yourvideo or image to external devices to recordor play back.
1. Connectthe Camcorderto your VCR or TVwith the Multi-AVcable. (See pages70-71)
2. Set the Power switch to PLAYER.
3. Set the Mode switch to TAPE.
4. Turnon the VCR or TV.
5. Insert the blank tape with protection tab closed into the Camcorder.
• If you want to record from a connectedVCR, insert a recordedVHS tape into the VCR.
6. Pressthe MENU button.
• The menu listwill appear.
7. Movethe Menu selector to the left or rightto select Record, then pressthe Menu selector.
8. Movethe Menu selector tothe left or rightto select AV In/Out, then pressthe
Menu selector.
9. Movethe Menu selector to the left or rightto select Out, AV In or S-Video In, then press the
Menu selector.
• If you want to see the Camcorderpicture with aTV,setAV In/Out menu to Out.
10.Toexit, press the MENU button.
11.Pressthe Start/Stopbutton to set the Camcorderto REC PAUSEmode.
• PAUSE appears on the LCDscreen.
12.Selectthe TV program or play back theVHS tape.
13.Pressthe Start/Stop button to start recording.
• If you want to temporarilypause a recording, pressthe Start/Stop button.
14.Tostop recording,press the • (STOP) button.

• When you record the images being played back on an analog VCR, if they are not being played back
at normal speed, (for example, more than double speed or slow playback), only a gray image appears on the Camcorder.
