Trouble check
Cause and/or corrective actions
• The tape has no cassette memory.
m Use a tape with cassette memory. (p. 53)
• CM SEARCH is set to OFF in the menu system.
m Set it to ON. (p. 30)
• There is no title in the tape.
m Superimpose the titles. (p. 66)
The gold-plated connector of the tape is dirty or dusty.
m Clean the gold-plated connector. (p. 73)

The contrast between the subject and background is too
high. The camcorder is not malfunctioning.
m Change locations.
The video heads may be dirty.
m Clean the heads using the Sony DVM12CL cleaning
