Conventional Handycam
From highly resolved detail to smoothly defocused backgrounds, nothing matches
a full-frame sensor for quality. This new 24.3 megapixel full-frame sensor offers superior
resolution and 2.33 times the surface area of APS-C size sensors, for beautiful low-noise
imagery and gorgeous defocusing effects.
The NEX-VG900 is also capable of shooting up to three DSLR-class still images per second,
with RAW* output if required to allow the widest possible range of postprocessing options.
A solid foundation for outstanding images
Precision touch-panel LCD monitor and XGA OLED viewfinder
Fine details and tonal values are faithfully reproduced by a
920,000-dot “Xtra Fine” 3.0 type LCD monitor that facilitates
precise manual focusing and also functions as a touch panel
for intuitive control. The viewfinder is a crisp, high-contrast
XGA OLED “Tru-Finder” type.
Intimate control lets your imagination flow
Direct keys and assignable control dial
Aperture, shutter speed, and gain adjustments can be easily accessed via externally
mounted direct keys. An assignable control dial also enables easy, rapid adjustment
of manual exposure settings for hands-on creative control in any situation.
Extended video recording time
With the NEX-VG900 recording times are limited only by the capacity of the memory
card used. The supplied NP-FV70 will allow operation for more than two hours,
or the optional NP-FV100 battery can be used for more than five hours operation.*

Handling optimized for video shooting
Handling is another feature that is essential for high-quality video. The grip offers
an intimate fit with the camcorder in shooting position, and low-angle shots can
be managed comfortably and stably by gripping from above.
