NOTE:
Do not clean filter in gasoline o roth-
er flammable solvent to avoid creating a fire
hazard or p roducing harmful evaporative
emissions.

Wash the filter in soap and water.

Allow filter to dry.

Add 10 --15drops ofoil tothe filter; squeeze
the filter to distribute oil.
NOTE:
FILTER MUST BE OILED!

REPLACING THE LINE
For unit to operate p roperly, the cutting line
should be replaced when line becomes worn
tolessthan 3inches inlength from t heedge of
the line exit tunnels on each sideof thecutting
head.
WARNING:
Only replace cutting line
with engine switch in the OFF position.

Remove and discard worn line before
installing new line.

brand cut length line.
S
Insert one end of the line through the posi-
tioning tunnel.
S
Continue to feed line through tunnel until
line is centered (leaving equal amounts on
each side). See illus t ration below.

Insert ends of line one at a time through the
line exit tunnels.

Pull the line and make sure the line is ex-
tended fully through the tunnels.

Correctly installed line will be the same
length on both ends.

Authorized Service Dealer.
CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENTS
Your carburetor is equipped with limiter caps.
Carburetor adjustments is a complicated
task. We recommend that you take your unit
to anAuthorized Service Dealer. Damage will
occur if you turn the needles beyond the limit-
er stops.
IGNITION TIMING
The ignition timing is fixed, non--adjustable.
SPARK PLUG
Replace the spark plug yearly using a Cham-
pion RCJ--8Y plug. Spark plug gap is 0.025”.
