Using the Mode Dial
No matter what position the mode dial is in, you can shoot movies

with just a push of the Movie button.
You can select the movie recording pixels and frame rate (p. 48) and
shoot with color effects such as Color Accent, Color Swap, and My
Colors.

You can record until the memory card is full (when a super high-speed
memory card is used, such as the recommended SDC-512MSH).

Even if the clip size has not reached 1 GB, recording will stop at the moment
the clip length reaches 1 hour.
Depending on the storage capacity of the memory card and the speed at
which the data is written, recording will stop before reaching 1 GB or 1 hour.
1 Press the Movie button to shoot.
zShooting starts when the Movie button
is pressed.
zRecording will include sound.
zDuring shooting, the recording time (in
seconds) and "z Rec." appear on the
LCD monitor (or viewfinder).
zThe tally lamp blinks red during movie recording and turns off
when the recording session is over. When [Tally Lamp] is set to
[Off] in the Rec. menu, the lamp does not blink (p. 28).
zPressing the Movie button again stops recording.
Recording will stop automatically under the following
circumstances.
- When the maximum recording time elapses
- When the internal memory and the memory card becomes full
zWhen shooting with the Color Accent or the Color Swap, be
sure to specify them in mode beforehand (p. 53).
zEven if you shoot movies with the recording pixels for still
images set to , the aspect ratio of the recorded movie will be
the usual 4:3 screen.
