1.Interlacedversusprogressivescan

frame(59.94fieldspersecond).PALvideois25fps(50fieldspersecond).
‐Interlacedvideodoesnotlookgoodonprogressivescanmonitors.Compressiontechniquesforthe
webusuallychangethevideofrominterlacedscantoprogressivescan.Themostbasicmethodforthis
changeistodiscardonefieldandduplicatetheothertocreatethefullframe.
‐Thisprocessreducestheamountofdatayoustartedwithby50%,whichcanadverselyaffectthe
finalquality.Themorecomplexmethodisfortheencodertoreadbothfieldsandinterpolate(blend)
themintoasingleframebychangingthepixelstosmoothoutthetimingdifferencebetweenthe
fields.Thismorecomplexmethodallowsyoutostillusealltheoriginaldatafromthevideoand
producehigherqualityoutputforprogressivescanmonitors.
2.Cameramotion

andpansaremoredifficult.
