To choose a shooting mode,
rotate the mode dial to the
desired setting.
• S (ADVANCED SR AUTO): The camera automatically opti-
mizes settings to the scene.
• B (AUTO): A simple “point-and-shoot” mode recom-
mended for rst-time users of digital cameras.
• P: Aperture and shutter speed can be adjusted using
program shift.
• S, A, M: Select for full control over camera settings, in-
cluding aperture (M and A) and/or shutter speed (M
and S).
• Filter (ADVANCED FILTER): Select for taking photos with
lter e ects.
• Adv. (ADVANCED): Sophisticated techniques made easy.
• SP1/SP2 (SCENE POSITION): Choose a scene suited to the
subject or shooting conditions and let the camera do
the rest.
• u (MOTION PANORAMA 360): Pan the camera to take a
series of shots that are automatically joined into a
panorama.
