Camera turns off
without warning.
The camera automatically turns off to save
power (auto off function).
The camera or battery has become too cold
and cannot operate properly.
The inside of the camera has become hot.
Leave the camera off until the inside of the
camera has cooled, and then try turning it
on again.
The camera turns off if the USB cable
connecting it to a computer or printer is
disconnected. Reconnect the USB cable.

Monitor is blank.
The camera is off.
The camera has entered standby mode to
save power. Press the power switch,
shutter-release button, A button, c
button, or b (e movie-record) button.
The flash lamp flashes while the flash is
charging. Wait for the flash to charge.
The camera and computer are connected
via the USB cable.
The camera and TV are connected via an
HDMI cable.
Camera and smart device are connected
using Wi-Fi connection and the camera is
operated by remote control.

read.
Adjust the monitor brightness.

Date and time of
recording are not
correct.
If the camera clock has not been set, the
“Date not set” indicator flashes during
shooting and movie recording. Images and
movies saved before the clock is set are
dated “00/00/0000 00:00” or “01/01/2014
00:00” respectively. Set the correct time and
date from the Time zone and date option
in the setup menu.
The camera clock is not as accurate as
ordinary watches or clocks. Periodically
compare the time of the camera clock with
that of a more accurate timepiece and reset
as required.
