Connecting to Televisions, Computers and Printers
Charging While Connecting to a Computer
When connecting the camera to a computer via the supplied USB cable while
Auto (default setting) is selected for the Charge by computer option (A 140) in
the setup menu, the battery inserted into the camera is automatically charged
using power supplied by the computer.
See “Before Connecting the Camera” (A 112) and “Transferring Pictures from the
Camera to a Computer” (A 113) for more information on connecting the camera
to a computer.
Charge Lamp
The following chart explains charge lamp status when the camera is connected to
a computer.
Charge lamp Description
Slow blinking (green) Battery charging.
Off
Not charging.
If the charge lamp changes from slow blinking (green) to off
while the power-on lamp is lit, charging is complete.
Fast blinking (green)
Operating temperature range exceeded. Charge the
battery indoors with an ambient temperature of 5 °C to
35 °C (41 °F to 95 °F) before use.
A USB cable is not correctly connected or the battery is
faulty. Reconnect the USB cable correctly or replace the
battery.
Computer is in sleep mode and does not supply power.
Reboot a computer.
The battery cannot be charged as computer’s
specifications or setting does not support power supply
to the camera.
