Advanced Recording
+ The ShutterSpeed function works only in Camera mode.
+ The Exposurefunction works in both Camera and M.Cam modes.
+ Quick menu is usedto access Camcorderfunctions bysimply using the Menu selector.
1. Setthe Power switchto CAMERA.
2. Setthe Mode switch to TAPE.
3. Pressthe Menuselector.
4. Movethe Menu selector to the left or right to select Shutter or Exposure, then pressthe
Menuselector.
5. Movethe Menu selector to the left or right to select Manual, thenpress the Menu selector.
6. Movethe Menu selector to the left or right to select desired shutter speedor exposure,then
pressthe Menu selector.
• Shutter speed can be setto 1/60, 1/100, 11250,1/500, 111000,112000,114000or
1/10000.
• Exposure value can be set between00 and 29.
7. To exit, pressthe MENU button.
• Selectedsettingsare displayed.

RecommendedShutter Speeds when Recording
+ Outdoor sports such as golf or tennis: 1/2000or 1/4000
+ Movingcars ortrains or other rapidlymoving vehicles such as roller coasters: 1/1000, 1/500
or 1/250
+ Indoorsports such as basketball: 1/100

• If you manually change the shutter speed and the exposure value when Program AE option is
selected, manual changes are applied first.
• The image may not seem as smooth when a high shutter speed is set.
• The Camcorder returns to the auto shutter and auto exposure settings when you set the change to the EASY.Q mode.
• When recording with a Shutter Speed of 1/1000 or higher, make sure the sun is not shining intothe lens.
