+ The Playbackfunction works only in Player mode.
Playback on the LCD Screen
+ Itis easier to view a tape using the LCDscreen as opposedto the viewfinder when in a movingautomobile or outdoors.
Playback on aTV Monitor
+ Toplay back a tape, the television must be NTSCcompatible. (see page 113)
+ We recommend thatyou use the AC Power adapter as the power source forthe Camcorder.
Connecting toa TV which has Audio/VideoInput Jacks
1. Connect the Camcorderto your TV with theMulti-AV cable.
• The yellowjack: Video
• The whitejack: Audio(L)-mono
• The redjack:Audio(R)
If you connect to a monaural TV,connect the yellow jack (Video)
to the video input of the TV and the whitejack (Audio L) tothe audio input
of the TV.
2. Setthe Power switchto PLAYER.
3. Setthe Mode switch to TAPE.
4. Turn on the TV and setthe TV/VIDEO selectoron the TV to Video.

5. Playthe tape.

• You may use the S-Video connector on the cable to obtain better quality pictures ifyou have an S-Video jack on your TV.
• Even ifyou use the S-Video connector, you still need to make audio connections on your TV.
• If you connect the cable to the AudioNideo jack, you will not hear sound from the Camcorder's speakers.
• If only a mono audio input is available on the TV set, use the Audio cable with the white jack (Audio L).
