Troubleshooting Guide
Symptom Possible causes Solutions / Corrective Actions
The camera does not
power on.
The
ViviCam 8400
suddenly powers down.
The image is not
captured when the
shutter button is
pressed.
The flash does not fire.
Continuous shooting
is not possible.
Cannot transfer files
over a USB connection.
* Load new or fully charged batteries.
*
Ensure that the battery polarity is correct.
* Close the battery cover correctly.
* Properly connect the AC power adapter.
* Set the option of Auto Shut Down to Off.
*
Press the power button again or
replace the batteries with a new or
freshly charged set.
* Rotate the mode dial to A , P , SCENE
, Tv , Av or M.
* Transfer the desired files to your
computer and then delete unnecessary
files, or use a different memory card.
* Select a different flash mode.
* Select [Single] in the capture mode .
* Insert a new SD memory card.
* Check all connections.
* Install the USB driver on your computer.
* Turn on the
ViviCam 8400.
* The batteries are depleted.
* The
batteries are not oriented correctly.
* The battery cover is not closed properly.
* The AC power adapter (optional) is disconnected.
* The function of Auto Shut Down in
(Setup) mode has been activated.
* The
batteries are depleted.
* The
ViviCam 8400 is in (Play) mode.
* Memory is full.
* NO FLASH is selected in flash mode.
* The
ViviCam 8400 is in Burst/AEB/
(Video) mode.
* The capacity of the built-in memory or
SD memory card is full.
* The USB cable is not connected securely.
* The USB driver is not installed.
* The
ViviCam 8400 is turned off.
