Using a Memory Card
3. Press the PHOTO button fully.
• F disappears and you hear a shutter sound.
• The card access indicator flashes and the card access display
appears.
• The still image shown on the screen will be recorded on the memory card.
❍ To use the self-timer ( 68), press the (self-timer) button before step 2
and press the PHOTO button fully.
❍ If the subject is not suitable for autofocus, the focusing frame turns yellow and
locks the focus. The confirmation sound beeps once. Adjust the focus manually
with the focus ring.

The focusing frame gives an indication of the focusing point. Depending on the
size of the subject or the distance, the camcorder may focus outside the frame.
❍ When the subject is too bright (overexposed), “OVEREXP” starts flashing. If
you have turned off the built-in ND filter, we recommend changing the setting
back to AUTO. Open the menu and select [CAMERA SET UP]. Select [ND
FILTER], set it to [AUTO] and close the menu.
❍ “OVEREXP” does not appear when you press the EXP button.
Selecting the Focusing Point
1. Set the camcorder to CARD CAMERA mode.
A white focusing frame appears in the center of the screen.
2. Set the program selector to Q.
3. Turn the selector dial to display all focusing frames.
Three focusing frames appear on the screen, one of it in green.
4. Turn the selector dial to select the focusing point.
Turn the selector dial up to select the frame to the right, down
to select the frame to the left.
5. Record the still image.
❍ If you operate the zoom lever, press the EXP button or do not press the PHOTO
button within 4 seconds, the frames other than the selected one disappear.
