OTHER RECORDING FUNCTIONS
Very bright light inside of an image can cause a vertical
band to appear in the monitor screen image. This is a
CCD phenomenon known as “vertical smear”, and does
not indicate malfunction of the camera. Note that vertical
smear is not recorded with the image in the case of a
snapshot, but it is recorded in the case of a movie.
Certain types of memory cards take longer to record data,
which can cause movie frames to be dropped. and
REC
flash on the monitor screen during recording to let
you know when a frame has been dropped.
Optical zoom is disabled during movie recording. Digital
zoom only is available. Make sure you select the optical
zoom setting you want to use before you press [ ]
(MOVIE) to start movie recording (page 57).
The effects of camera movement in an image become
more pronounced when you record close ups or recording
with a large zoom factor. Because of this, use of a tripod
is recommended when recording close ups or recording
with a large zoom factor.
Images may be out of focus if the subject is outside the
shooting range of the camera.
Recording a Snapshot during Movie
Recording
You can use the procedure below to record a snapshot
during movie recording.
1.
Point the camera at the subject you want to
record, and then press [ ] (MOVIE).
This will start movie recording.
2.
When you want to record a snapshot, press
the shutter button.
This will record the snapshot and return to movie
recording.
To stop movie recording, press [ ] (MOVIE) again.
