ADVANCED SETTINGS
You can use the procedure below to expand the dynamic range,
which makes it possible to capture the bright areas of an image
while reducing the chance of overexposure and underexposure.
When shooting a subject that is back lit, for example, an
expanded dynamic range minimizes overexposure and
underexposure.
1. In the REC mode, press [MENU].
2. On the “Quality” tab, select “Dynamic Range”
and then press [X].
3. Use [S] and [T] to select the setting you want
and then press [SET].
You can also correct the dynamic range of a photograph
you have already shot (page 179).
Reducing the Effects of Overexposure
and Underexposure
When you want to do this:
