BASIC OPERATION
BEFORE TAKING PICTURES
For best results
Hold the camera securely, keeping your elbows close to your body and
making sure the camera is stable.
Make sure that the lens and flash are not blocked by your fingers or the
neckstrap.
* For shooting vertically oriented still images, you can set the shooting
orientation to the vertical (portrait) format (page 66).

Example 1:
Grip the camera by
wrapping the fingers of the
right hand, from the little
finger to the middle finger,
around the camera, and
hook the index finger above
the lens.
