Mode dial
There are 8 recording modes can be set by turning the Mode dial, such as
Intelligent Scene, Scene mode, Continuous Shooting, Photo Stitch,
Manual Exposure, Aperture Priority, Shutter Priority and Program. Once
turning the Mode dial, it will enter the selected mode immediately even in
Playback mode or during movie recording.
For detail operation, please see the following sections.
The table below shows the available settings for Mode dial.
Icon Mode Description
Intelligent Scene
The camera detects the shooting conditions and automatically switches
to the appropriate scene mode. See "Using Intelligent Scene" on page
29 for more details.
Scene mode
Turns the mode dial to enter last used Scene mode. Press the MENU
button to select other scene mode. See "Setting the Scene Mode" on
page 30 for more details.
Continuous
Shooting
Turns the mode dial to enter last used Continuous Shooting mode. See
"Using Continuous Shooting" on page 36 for more details.
Photo Stitch
This feature creates a panoramic photo from multiple shots. See "Using
Photo Stitch Mode" on page 36 for more details.
Manual Exposure
This feature lets users to adjust the shutter speed and aperture value to
correctly expose your images. See "Using Manual Exposure" on page 37
for more details.
Aperture Priority
This feature lets users to adjust the aperture value and the camera
automatically selects the shutter speed to match the brightness. See
"Using Aperture Priority Mode" on page 38 for more details.
Shutter Priority
This feature lets users to adjust the shutter speed and the camera
automatically selects the aperture value to match the brightness. See
"Using Shutter Priority Mode" on page 38 for more details.
Program
The camera automatically adjusts suitable shooting settings like shutter
speed and aperture values.
