Troubleshooting

In Review mode, a
blue or black screen
is displayed instead
of a picture.
File format is
unrecognized.
Transfer the picture to the computer
(page 27).
Shutter button does
not work.
Camera is not turned on. Turn on the camera (page 4).
Camera is processing a
picture; the ready light
(near the viewfinder) is
blinking red.
Wait until the ready light stops
blinking red before attempting to take
another picture.
Card or internal memory
is full.
Transfer pictures to the computer
(page 27), delete pictures from the
camera (page 17), switch image
storage locations (page 12), or insert
a card with available memory
(page 7).
Shutter button was not
pressed.

Slide show does not
run on external
video device.
Video Out setting is
incorrect.
Adjust the camera Video Out setting
(NTSC or PAL, page 14).
External device is set
incorrectly.
See the external device’s user’s guide.
Picture is too light. Subject was too close for
flash.
Move so there is at least 2.6 ft (0.8 m)
between camera and subject.
Too much light. Decrease Exposure Compensation
(page 11).
Picture is not clear. Lens is dirty. Clean the lens (page 39).
Subject too close when
taking picture.

Subject or the camera

surface or use a tripod.
