1. Safety instructions
22
• Never fire a flash in the immediate vicinity of
the eyes!
Flash fired directly in front of the eyes of a
person or animal can damage the retina and
lead to severe visual disorders, even
blindness!
• Spent batteries must be immediately taken
out of the flashgun!
Lye can leak out of spent batteries and damage
the flash unit.
•
Never recharge dry-cell batteries (e.g. alkaline)!
• Do not short-circuit rechargeable batteries.
• Protect dry/rechargeable batteries against
excessive heat such as sunlight, fire and the
like!
• Never throw spent batteries into a fire!
• Do not expose the flashgun to dripping or
splashing water!
• Protect the flashgun against excessive heat
and high humidity levels! Do not store the
flashgun in the glove compartment of a car!
• Insert the flashgun in the camera’s accessory
shoe and clamp firmly with the knurled nut so
that it cannot slip out!
• To avoid overheating, a series of 20 flashes at
full light output and short recycling times with
a NiCad battery must be followed by a break
of at least 3 minutes.
• Never place material that is impervious to
light in front of, or directly on, the diffuser. The
diffuser must be perfectly clean when a flash
is fired. The high energy of the flash light will
burn the material or damage the diffuser if
this is not observed!
