4 Close the card cover, and

uCaution
• Do not remove the memory card while the card access lamp
is lit.
• If the card cover is opened while the power is on, the camera
will turn off. Do not open the cover while the camera is in use.
• Use this camera to format (initialize) a memory card that is
unused or has been used on other devices. (p.26)
• Use a high-speed memory card when recording movies. If a
write speed cannot keep up with a recording speed, the
writing may stop during recording.
Turn the camera on and make the initial settings
1 Press the power switch.

The power will automatically turn off when you do not perform
any operations within a set period of time. (Default setting: 1min.)
You can change the setting in [Auto Power Off] of the

1 Use ABCD to select the desired language and
press E.
The [Initial Setting] screen
appears in the selected language.
Proceed to Step 6 if F
(Hometown) does not need to be
changed.
2 Press B to move the frame
to F and press D.
The [F Hometown] screen appears.
