Taking Pictures
You can choose settings appropriate for taking pictures of dark scenes,
such as nightscapes.

Press the four-way controller (3) in A mode.
The Capture Mode Palette appears.

Use the four-way controller (2345) to select N, B,
A, K, c or S.
Taking Pictures of Dark Scenes (Handheld Night

Handheld Night Snap
Minimizes camera shake for shooting at night. The
number of recorded pixels is fixed at f
(2592×1944).

Night Scene Portrait
For images of people at night. Use of a tripod or other
support is advised. If the Face Detection function is
activated when the flash mode is set to , (Auto), the
flash mode automatically changes to d (Flash On +
Red-eye).

Night Scene
For night time images. Use of a tripod or other support
is suggested.
K
Sunset For images of sunsets and warm lighting.

Digital SR
Higher sensitivity reduces blur. The sensitivity is
automatically set to AUTO and the number of
recorded pixels is fixed at f (2592×1944).
S
Fireworks
For capturing fireworks. Use of a tripod or other
support is suggested. The shutter speed is fixed at 4
sec. and the sensitivity is fixed at the minimum value.
