Installing the software
The procedures for installing the necessary software are
explained.
• The installation procedure varies depending on the version
of Windows (98/Me/2000).Before starting installation,
check which version of Windows you have on your PC.If
you are using Windows XP, see “Installing the USB Driver
(Windows XP)” (p.90) for installation instructions.
• If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP
(Professional), log in by the administrator before starting
installation. Refer to your PC’s operation manual for
instructions on how to log in.
Installing the USB driver (Windows 98/Me/2000)
z Turn on your PC.
x Set the included CD-ROM (S-SW5) in the CD-ROM drive.
c Turn the camera off, and connect the PC and camera
using an USB cable.

e sure that the CF Card has been inserted into the cam-
era.
v Turn the camera on.
The PC recognizes the camera and the [Add New Hardware
Wizard] screen is displayed.
